However, it was rarely accepted in Brazil. So, it works as a <strong>type of ID<\/strong> for people in the virtual world. This way, it may be used as a signature with legal validity to identify people and companies. With this, it carries the authenticity of information.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; However, this mechanism took some time to be accepted in the sworn translations. After all, it exists since the <strong>Provisional Decree no. 2.200-2<\/strong>, of 24\/08\/2001. With this decree, documents should be accepted with digital signatures with no restrictions. But it wasn\u2019t like that&#8230;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; As we said in the beginning of this post, some entities refused to accept it. Among them, the <strong>registry offices of deeds<\/strong> and documents and Detran. But last December everything changed! This was because the National Department of Corporate Registration and Integration (DREI) authorized translators to use the resource in their services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"The_digital_signature_and_sworn_translations\"><\/span>The digital signature and sworn translations<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; This decision was made in the best time possible. Because there is no requirement to present <strong>physical documents.<\/strong> And this contributes immensely to the moment of social isolation in which we are living. So, the transaction is made <em>online<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; The customer has only to send documents via internet to the translator. Then, the translator <strong>performs the sworn translation<\/strong>, issues the digital certificate and returns them, all virtually. Much more practical, isn\u2019t it? So, only the translators who are interested in the resource may request the <em>token <\/em>with the<strong> certifying authorities<\/strong>. Then it shall be renewed every year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Now that you know the digital certificate, it is hard not to agree with how much easier our lives are with it! After all, it brings much more practicality, both to customers and providers. Also, <strong>there is no additional cost <\/strong>to hire this service.
